Sunita Staneslow - a wonderful harp teacher, mentor, and friend - gave a wonderful Master Class and Concert for my studio. Students were so blessed to meet this world reknowed harpist who truly inspires me. I recommend ALL of her recordings to any Harp enthusiast!
Sunita is classically trained and studied with Lucille Lawrence at the Manhatten School of Music. Harp Column Magazine recently published an article about Sunita starting with this introduction, "The pop music world has a handful of stars that need only a single name to be universally recognized. The harp world has one. Sunita. Sunita (Staneslow, if you really need to know her last name) has the one-of-a-kind personality and career befitting of a single-name performer." I asked Sunita to play this piece , "Sleep Ida Morning" in the video above arranged by Kim Robertson . This piece demonstrates various harp techniques that were helpful for my students to see including harmonics and xylophonics.
